BY THE WAY... IS IT POSSIBLE?
...I wanted to practice using a single flash this evening, but all my peeps ran when they saw me coming. So I go to my friend's house, and say "I need to borrow Carson for a little bit and we're going out in a pasture, so he needs his boots."
We load up. He's full of questions. And just so you'll know, he's a homebody. LOL.
I drive half a block, and he announces "I sure do like my house." Uh oh, here it comes. Two blocks into the drive, I interrupt his ode to his house and ask what he likes to drink, because it's gonna be hot out there. Sprite, he says. We drive the mile to Sonic for a Sprite for him, and he moans several times about missing his mama. How long is this going to take? He wishes he was home. How far do we have to drive? "I'm gonna miss 'I, Carly' on tv." I tell him he's probably seen it before. Nuh uh, it's a new one, he informs me. I tell him it'll come on again soon as a rerun.
After he gets his drink, he's still cheerfully dropping HUGE hints. I say "Sheesh, Carson, if I'd known you were gonna whine the whole time, I would have brought Kaitlyn instead." He says, without missing a beat, "You can drop me off at home and pick her up." LOL. No way. I tell him I wanted HIM, not some girl.
When we get there, it doesn't take but a minute to set up the flash on a stand, but it takes a little longer to figure out why it's not flashing (mismatched channels, DUH) and he loudly proclaims several times "I'M GETTING BORED OVER HERE." I give him a whistle. He blows it twice and he's bored with that now. Finally I see my problem and fix it, and we take a few pics. I've lost the level of the sun that I was after by that time, so it didn't take long. After the pics, we spend some time looking at a HUGE grasshopper (katydid, maybe?) and he says "I wish I could bring him home." lol
We get back in the car, and I hand him a dollar, and say "Here's your pay. Thanks for helping me." His face lights up and he's all about that. He says "I'm putting this with my money at home!"
I had the best time. My pics are terrible but I learned a lot. I'm starting from scratch, again. I just don't get flash. lol. But it's a lot of fun learning, especially when you have a good helper.
